we've channeled small to great distraction
sending light round the world to darken corners
reaching afar
yet sequestered within
and touch not the ones we touch
this light that speeds through strangling noose
brings us together but keeps us distant
chords of connection suspend
taut and tethered
on lines of illusion
to retreat from reality into virtual
remote isolation
of self
the sensory overload deprivation consumes
all who behold
there are none resisting and all are beckoned
exponentially as even the very young succumb
their corruption borne from their entrusted
light becomes dark and dark light
truth and good become suppression
and collateral evil holds no abuse
as all are invisible impulses
unrestrained
bound in secret
enslaved in freedom
